I went to Art school…studied printmaking…got a degree…now I work as a software developer and system administrator for a large multinational corporation. OMG, how’d that happen?!? So now in my spare time, I break free from my corporate shackles by creating art. Currently my favorite medium is collage, specifically altered art collage. I like working with vintage images and materials. I also really enjoy linocut and blockprints. Currently, I’ve also been working with digital collage and various print techniques.” – Jennifer Comstock

PaperStreet’s 1st Annual

Shades of Pink ACEO Challenge

Gypsy Soul (Pink 2) by Charlotte Self

Gypsy Soul (Pink 2) by Charlotte Self

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and there are several groups on flickr where you can post your pink artwork or photos to raise awareness & funds for breast cancer research charities.

Charlotte has challenged herself to make 1 pink collage every day for the rest of October, which she’ll post in the two fund-raising groups below. For each photo added to these groups, Yahoo will donate money to charities & research organizations in the United States and several European countries.

Now we’re stepping it up a notch & challenging YOU! This is an open call to any artist interested in creating ACEO art trading card collages with a pink theme. Images will be submitted to the two Flickr groups & will not only be oggled by tons of people, many of whom will doubtlessly mutter “Ooh, shiny!” to themselves as they gander and gawk at your lovely work… Where was I? Oh, yea… We’d LOVE it if you’d submit them to the groups yourselves, but we understand that many of you might not have or even want a free Flickr account – so we’ll be happy to post them for you, just let us know! We’ll also be willing (albeit grudgingly) to withhold posting work at the request of any participating artist. Now, the fun stuff!!

We are offering 3 free Pink themed collage sheets to all entrants to base their collages on.

Collage sheets and complete “Shades of Pink” ACEO Collage challenge rules can be accessed at: http://paperstreetsupplies.com/contests/

Feel free to message us with any questions.

Pink” is the theme, otherwise the contest is fairly wide open. Collages should be approximately 2.5″ x3.5″ (trading card sized). We do ask that you use *primarily* images from the three free pink-themed collage sheets to create your collages, but you are welcome to use outside images for secondary elements, extra touches, etc. – and since it’s for a good cause, we’re willing to accept any/all pink entries. We do ask that you keep it family friendly – nudity is acceptable, but nothing raunchy please. Images deemed distasteful will be removed at our discretion (keep in mind, we have an 8 year old son).

We also ask that you join and cross post your pink images to the following flickr groups – your pictures can help raise money for breast cancer research!

Update: 08/15/2009
“At long last, the final illustrations for Through The Looking Glass are complete! It’s taken two years of steady procrastination coupled with heavy distraction, along with a few odd moments of inspiration and the occasional bit of free time, but they’re done! I’d like to invite you to view the all of my Wonderland/Looking Glass illustrations in their proper context, alongside the original illustrations by John Tenniel. You’ll find both stories, fully illustrated, as well as online art galleries, Alice information, and more at my new site Uncommon Nonsense.”
- Kenneth Rougeau

Prints are now available directly from PaperStreetSupplies.com!

Prints are temporarily offline, please visit

in the meantime. Thanks!

“Well, it seems Tim Burton is hard at work filming his live action version of Alice In Wonderland, so I thought it might be time to blow the dust off of my Alice In Wonderland artwork and parade it around for all to see. I’ve also just reopened my own Etsy shop and have prints available once again! I’ll be adding listings back in as quickly as I can & will have new works up soon as well.” – Ken
