PaperStreet’s Catch of the Day Returns!

PaperStreet’s “Best of” collection, The Catch of the Day, returns with Volume VIII this April, 2010. The Catch of the Day began as a daily subscription newsletter packed with information and tutorials for artists and crafters, as well as a daily digital collage sheet containing some of our favorite images handpicked from our extensive collection of source materials. Each collage sheet features numerous images such as vintage photographs, postage stamps, old advertisements, postcards, posters, labels, drawings, illustrations, paintings, and more. PaperStreet’s Catch of the Day is crafted by artists for artists – these are the same images we use to make our own artwork & so we strive for the utmost in quality content.

We are not currently offering Catch of the Day subscriptions, but expect to make them available again soon. For now, each new sheet will be posted daily to the appropriate shop category (Catch of the Day – Volume VIII) and will be available at the regular downloadable collage sheet rates ($3 for JPG, $3.50 for PDF). Catch of the Day back issues are also being made available for download & will also soon be available on CD-ROM and DVD. I’ll have updates posted as things progress.

Volume VIII, Issue 1 was announced and due to be released April 1st, 2010. Unfortunately, I was caught late at an art show and wasn’t able to get the sheet up in the shop on time… My old subscribers I’m sure are giggling at this, they’re quite used to my “artist’s” sense of timing – I’m almost always running behind, hehehe. To make up for my inadvertant April Fool’s prank, I added an additional collage sheet to the issue, meaning that Volume VIII, Issue 1 is a double issue – two awesome digital collage sheets for the price of one. I hope you enjoy them! I loaded them up with some of my favorite new pics collected over the last 6 months or so, many of which I’ve used or plan to use myself.

Volume VIII, Issue 2 was released late in the day on April 2nd 2010 & is now available for immediate download in our store. Issue 2 comes loaded with even more great source material including an amazing color illustration of Baron Munchausen, an awesome colorized vintage photograph of a Japanese gentleman in a bowler hat, a black and white photo of two sisters, a Pony Express postage stamp, a postmark from Belgium, an old postcard, several illustrations, and more. This issue & all other digital collage sheets we carry are available as your choice of downloadable, printable JPEG or PDF files.

And now… *drumroll* — The Catch of the Day, Volume VIII, issue 3, released just this very minute April 3rd, 2010. Today’s digital collage sheet was crafted by accomplished collage artist Charlotte Self & contains several source images she thinks no collage artist should be without including a diagram of a suit of armor, vintage portraits, a fairy illustration, a dragonfly, blue bird, bird’s egg, flowers, and a lovely blue butterfly.

Volume VIII, Volume 4 is currently under construction & promises to be fantastic! I look forward to sharing it with you tomorrow afternoon.
