The Delightful Digital Depictions of Lewis A.Minor

Posted by: Kenneth Rougeau    in Art & Artists, Collage, Digital Art

Rummaging through my fellow collage artists on Etsy the other day, I was pleasantly surprised to discover Lewiesplayhouse, the digital collage art of an obvious madman going by the moniker Lewis A.Minor. Needless to say, I felt an immediate kinship :)

I’ve been doodling ever since I was old enough to hold a crayon. When I discovered what I could do with a mouse a few years back, it opened the gates to my rather off-kilter imagination. I’ve created dozens of digital doodles over the last few years for my own amusement. A few months ago, I put some works on Flickr. Well, response was good, and now I’m hoping that everyone can share in the fun,” says Lewis, who has been selling his collages on Etsy for a year now.

“The Eyes Have It” here is one of my personal favorites. I’m a _huge_ fan of Marty Feldman & it was a real treat to find him staring back at me with those crazy eyes :)

Add to that the bizarre collection of glass eyes & the absolutely hysterical text on the background ephemera (did you make that up or actually find that someplace Lewis?!) and you’ve got collage brillians IMHO.

Lewis has tons and tons of amazing pieces up for sale in his Etsy store & an even larger selection up for public view in his flickr photo stream. Do your eyes a favor & visit both for more!

Ken Wong: Mistaken Identity

Posted by: Kenneth Rougeau    in Art & Artists, Digital Art

Mistaken Identity by Ken Wong (http://www.kenart.net)

Mistaken Identity

Ken Wong has created an amazing array of artwork, testing the waters of a variety of styles & finding himself at home with them all. His illustrations range from storybook to surreal to simply masterful. I only wish I had more room to feature his art here – you have to see it all to truly appreciate the inspiring cornucopia of talent that is Ken Wong.

Here’s what he has to say for himself:

“I’m an artist, illustrator, & designer from Adelaide, Australia. I currently work as an Art Director at a computer game studio called Spicy Horse, in Shanghai. I’ve done visualisation and art direction work for a range of clients, mostly in the games industry. All my art is digital, although often it begins as a pencil sketch. I use Adobe Photoshop for everything. I love the art of Gustav Klimt, Mike Mignola, Shaun Tan, Moebius, Zdzislaw Beksinski & James Jean.” – Ken Wong
