PaperStreet’s 2nd Annual

Shades of Pink

Digital ACEO Collage Challenge

Divisions by Charlotte Self (2008)

We’re now accepting entries for the 2nd Annual “Shades of Pink” Digital ACEO Collage Challenge. October’s just around the corner & last year Yahoo! donated money for breast cancer research based on the amount of pink images submitted to various flickr groups. If they’re doing so again, we’ll be submitting all contest entries to these groups… and if not, we’ll show them off here. Either way, we’ve got prizes for the winners, so read the guidelines, grab some free collage sheets & get creating!

Pink” is once again the theme. ACEO collages are traditionally 2.5″ x3.5″ (trading card sized), though we will be accepting any pink collage submissions. It’s for a good cause after all :)

We are offering 6 free digital collage sheets to help spark your creativity.

Feel free to message us with any questions or comments.

We are not requiring that you use these images, as we did last year. Instead, you’re welcome to incorporate whatever elements you have access to & create any pink themed collage you’d like. We do want to keep the contest family friendly – nudity is acceptable, but nothing pornographic please. Images deemed distasteful will be removed at our discretion.

We also ask that you join and cross post your pink images to the flickr groups when they open in October (we’ll let you know). Your pictures can help raise money for breast cancer research!

Today we’re launching a new series of tutorials designed to teach you different ways in which you can use digital collage sheets. In our first lesson, you’ll begin by learning to digitally manipulate the images on a collage sheet using Photoshop to make a simple ACEO / ATC sized collage suitable for printing.

Today on PaperStreet we’ve been busily uploading our huge collection of Digital Collage Sheets, planning new blog posts, and thinking about all the possibilities for our site. We have a lot in store for the future.
I recently finished designing a set of Decorated Alphabets for Pendant Images as a custom order and I had so much fun making them I’ll be making a few more sets soon.

When I thumb through our Image Source I get a lot of inspiration. Adding the collage sheets to the store has forced me to look at them, so of course I had to do a collage. Sister Morphine is a collage I made using four simple elements from the our recent additions.
I used:
Clockwork – Steampunk (No. 13)
Victorian Women in Corsets
Butterflies – Insects No 15

I drew my inspiration from a song Sister Morphine, written by Marianne Faithful, one of my all time favorite singer/songwriters. The song was originally released by Marianne in 1969 then later recorded and made popular by the Rolling Stones in 1971.
